Some of my viewers had previously expressed difficulties with growing avocado seedlings around the 2 month mark, or even not being able to get past 60 days. I can confirm that the struggles are real. Whether or not my difficulties were due to a heat wave around that time, I started to have problems that haven't been completely solved even at the 4-month mark. I've been having a hard time finding that perfect balance of sunlight, nutrients, and hydration to get healthy dark green leaves and constant new growth, although through trial and error I think I've righted the ship. I now have large leaves that rival the size of many mature leathery leaves I've seen on much older avocado saplings, but they are neither thick nor dark green (maybe those two qualities go together) yet. I do believe I've solved the problem of leaf curling and drooping, and am not too far away from finding the right position on this balcony to get just the right amount of daily light for my seedling. Going forward I expect renewed leaf growth and yet larger leaves.
