I GOT A QUESTION DO YOU CHANGE THE WATER EVERYDAY OR USE THE SAME WATER TILL THE SEED SPROUTS

Please let me know whether avocado grown in pots yield fruits? How tall they grow in a 2 ft * 2ft * 2ft container and in how many years?

Hi! It only be normal for the leaves to fall off, especially if it's the older leaves. But if your avocado isn't growing much leaves, it could be because it's not getting enough nutrients. It's giving most of it's energy on the new growth and couldn't support older leaves. Try to add some organic compost on the soil and water it down so it can pass it's nutrients into the roots. It's still young so try to not leave it in direct sunlight because it's going to burn the leaves. Good luck! :)

PLEASE RESPOND!!! I have been growing an avocado tree from seed for almost a year. It is about 2 feet tall and is growing bark at the bottom. The leaves are big (3-5 inches). My only problem is that every time new leaves start to come, the old leaves fall off! I don't know what to do! I only have 2-5 leaves at a time. In the winters it gets cold so I keep the tree indoors where it still gets sunlight and in the summer it stays outdoors because it gets very warm outside. please help, thanks!

Hi. It will all depend on your water source and how your water is turning out. If the water isn't smelly or brown, just continue to add water into it. I use tap/faucet water so it's treated with chlorine and it doesn't go bad as bottled water. But from my experience with growing seeds in a container with water, 98% of the time I just add water. 2% of the time, the water went bad and I did have to exchanged the water. :)

Sorry if this sounds dumb, and maybe it has already been asked, but do you need to change out the water that your seeds are sitting in during the germination process? or could you just keep adding water as it evaporates?

Hi! Say, do you grow ressurection plants? Any experience with them? I have a black thumb and trying to correct that with avacados....I already discovered I was all wrong so thanks for that. I think your pineapple is awesome too. :) Thanks and please join my Fb too. Robianne Wilkins

@myinspiredcreation thank you for clarifying that for me! i think i will do just that :D

@sarahsuemarieme Keep in mind, you need another avocado tree around because they don't self polinate. :)

@sarahsuemarieme Seed grown avocados will bear fruit. They will just not taste the same as the fruit you got it from. Also, they do take longer to produce fruit, maybe add a couple or so more years because you are starting from scratch. Those that you buy from the store are already grown in about a year or two ahead. Maybe the video you saw, he wasn't planning on keeping it for a long time? Maybe he just want's to keep it as an indoor plant. With that said, go ahead and grow yourself one! =)

dumb question, but if i want to grow one, how do i know if it will bear fruit? i saw another video where this guy was showing how to grow them and then at the end he was like "these are purely ornamental, they won't produce." i definitely want avocados on mine!!
