Growing Asparagus Part 1 Planting Crowns

Planting Asparagus is easy! Just brace yourself for the first 2 years and then you can harvest plenty:) Choose a spot with part sun and soil with good drainage. Plant in the spring after the danger of frost. No harvesting the 1st year, light cutting in the 2nd year and regular harvest in the 3rd year and thereafter. Harvest in early spring for 3-4 weeks, then allow for ferns to grow, cut them down in late fall.
