Grow Your Own Courgettes With Quickcrop
Tips, Tricks
How to grow Courgettes with Quickcrop and expert vegetable grower Klaus Laitenberger. Originally courgettes were simply marrows which were harvested young. Nowadays, they will still grow into marrows but they have been specially bred to be harvested at their best when only about 10cm (4 in) long. Hey Guys,
So this is the first season I am growing courgettes and I have come across a problem I do not know how to fix and thought maybe you could help....I have three different types of courgettes growing, the first courgettes I picked was great but after this they seem to be rotting and I have cut at least the first six off the plant ( because they were rotting) they also seem to be turning yellow at the ends and going soft/squishy after they reach about 8cm.Help.... what am I doing wrong? My kids are so excited to eat some homegrown courgettes -
Hello, I would like to know if growing courgettes in a greenhouse reduces pollination from bees? I kept my greenhouse door open all summer to allow the bees in to pollinate the plants but the female flowers regularly died off. In the end I had to hand pollinate them early each morning but still received a poor courgette yield. Any advice for next year? Thanks.

Great video. I live in a suburban area and grow vegetables mostly in containers. What size container would you recommend for a single courgette plant? I currently have a courgette plaint in a round 14 inch pot (14 inches high too) but I have only got tiny courgettes that are around 4 inches long and skinny too, and I am thinking that maybe the pot is too small and is stunting the growth? I am a novice gardener so I have no previous experience of growing vegetables. Thank you.

I am confused. isn't that just a zucchini? I've never heard of the word you're using.

Wie gehts Klaus! I may have planted my courgette plants a bit close to each other (in a raised veg bed)....is there anything I can do to fix it?

Was just wondering what you do with the plant once it's finished producing and it has the mildew? I assume you wouldn't be able to compost it?!

Thank you. Straight to the point.

not true. as soon as you see it come on, spray the leaves front and back with milk once a week = no powdery mildew. also after transplanting mulch the soil with 4 inches of freshly chipped wood chips = healthy plant no mildew.

It'd be cool if QuickCrop spread out a bit to fruits as well, like strawberries, apples, pears etc. I love this channel.

My courgettes seem to be yellowing at the ends and stop growing. They are not growing bigger than approx 7cm. Do you know why this may be?

With all the sowing / planting of your courgettes completed their care needs are very simple. Keep them well-watered and fed. They grow so quickly that watering will be essential when the weather is warm and dry. Feeding is best done with a liquid feed about once every two weeks. Regular weeding will prevent competition for food and water. A layer of grass-cuttings or well-rotted compost on the soil around (but definitely not touching) your plants will conserve moisture and help prevent weeds
