Grow rose bush from wedding bouquet! (Or from any roses you get from the florist)
Tips, Tricks
Wouldn't it be exciting to have a piece of your wedding bouquet growing in your yard year after year? Or how about being able to grow a rose bush from that exquisite single rose you bought yourself? This video shows you how to propagate a rose that you buy at a florist. It also explains how the plant that results differs from grafted plants you might buy. David Clark, horticulturist, offers great tips.

great video! thanks.... hello from Niagara Canada!
-
thank you for the info. well made video! :)

Did you pour off any excess water from the pot or was the pot with perlite waterlogged?

Dear Mr. Clark @davidclark,
Could you please send me your e-mail so I can ask you few questions and send you pictures of the plants. Thank you. -
Oh my what a great use of those plastic containers from bedding, towels etc. I have a ton of them. I am going to use this method with roses given to me as a gift but also for a large rose bush that has been here since moved here-it flowers prolifically! I use coffee and tee grounds. I would also like to try the grafting method...I am experimenting with different methods..

+ David Clark hi! I have started this method about a week ago with some roses I got in a bouquet. they seem to be doing well but the leaves are starting to wilt a few days ago. I live in eastern Kentucky so its really hot and I brought them inside and put them in my window sill where they get quite a bit of sunlight through the day. they perked up but are starting to wilt again. do you have any advice of what I should change or if this is normal? thank you!

This is a great video. I started this process yesterday, July 3rd and live in NW Ohio, with temperatures much like Buffalo area. Will they be too immature to plant outside, if all goes well, in September? I would hope we would be away from first frost for a while yet. Or should I bring them in the house for the winter?

Please advice!Amazing video! Followed and my flower stem is doing great! I live in California and grew my plant outside...I'm about ready to move it from Perlite to Soil but I have a couple questions. 1. Do I just gently pull it out or is there a proper way to pot it? 2. The Perlite is green at the top...should this concern me? will it affect the plant? I read that it's algae but not sure what to do next. Thanks in advance for your help!! =)
