1. We started our spawn tonight after preparing the straw in a 6 gal. stainless steel pot. My husband drilled the inner bucket and I sterilized them with hydrogen peroxide, then rinsed thoroughly. I used a candy thermometer and kept pushing the straw down with a long wooden cooking paddle. We both used new rubber gloves to handle the medium and spawn. Will post an update in a few weeks.
2. When you say flushes do you mean you can use the straw 4 times? How log can you use that straw?

9. There are a few ideas you can try
   choose the best type - there are many available.
   grow them in the right conditions - some such as oyster muchrooms like cool humid areas and can be placed outdoors
   (I read these and the reasons they work from Gregs Mushroom Grower website )

11. I've been spending time with the help of my son studying growing mushrooms at home after which we found an awesome resource at gregs mushroom grower (google it if you're interested)
12. Once your first flush has grown and you give it a rest for one week, how do you bring it back to another flush? Do you soak it in water or just start misting the holes again?

14. Thanks for all the informative tips. I've tried this method after watching your video and am happy to say I was successful in growing Pink Oyster Mushrooms at home. One of my buckets unfortunately got infected with green mould so I lost that one.
    I was able to grow a whole 5 lb bucket and mushrooms are coming out of every hole. I also had some leftover to plant in a small hanging basket and these are growing through not only the hole but all around the top.
    The question I have is this. After it has flushed multiple times and is spent, can I use the old straw to inoculate another straw bed or cardboard perhaps? The question really is can I spread it around to make more mushrooms without having to buy new kits every time. Thanks again for your video
15. It would be smart to use a simple "weed waker" to chop it up while it's in the bucket..might take 60 seconds!{hehe} THW those scissors dude!
