Grow Full Size Radishes in Seed Flats: 1-2 Inches of Soil! -TRG 2016
Tips, Tricks
This is just a fun way to grow radishes that is effective. I grew these 'French Breakfast' radishes in 1-2 inches of soil. The flats had holes in them for drainage. The were fed every 7-10 days with a water soluble fertilizer. You can grow radishes in the spring and fall. Give it a try! I live north of you in Zone 6a. Do you have a rough idea as to when I could start those French Breakfast radishes this fall? Tnx in advance.
-
Your radishes look perfect!! I just harvested my white radishes and the leaves grew a foot tall and I had no radish growth. What the heck?? Something is off, what do you suggest, I would like to try again in the early fall I am in zone 6b Pa. Thanks

I do that, too. Thanks for the vid.

Hi Gary, Really enjoy your channel, especially with the new
cooking section with the young lady Coley.
The country I live in is an island called Trinidad off the
coast of South America. The weather is fairly stable usually between 25-32
degrees Celsius. There is a wet season and a dry season.. Thus a lot of greens are fairly quick to bolt with
the heat. I have a room that has air condition in it with temperatures in the
sweet spot range of 18-23 degrees Celsius, with a west facing bay window that
gets direct sun for about 4 hours and indirect sun for the rest of day. The
plants will be put in 8 inch through pots by 6 inches wide. Will kale, Swiss
chard, broccoli, kohlrabi will do well in this environment. If not what edible/
vegetable plants will do well in this environment?
Thanks for any assistance and look forward to future videos.

Gary, Do you keep those in a sunny area? Cause mine always seem to bolt in the sun. Also I've had problems in the past with a lot of green growth but no bulb or woody bulb so I stopped growing them. Are you keeping those really moist? And what's the N-P-K on the Jobe's you mentioned? Thanks
-
Hi Gary, are there holes in the flats ?

French Breakfast is the radish I like most. OMG Gary how many videos do you have I just Subscribed but I am sure it will take me 3 years to catch up and see them all, had a quick look and it looks so interesting. I assume you are in the US, can I ask what part your garden is, I am in Alberta so we are Zone 3. I am growing every thing this year in Milk crates, so container gardening works for me. Lookforward to learning and asking lots of questions.

No room for a table but maybe I can build a shelf and give this a try. Thanks.

I lived in a flat all my life until last year. Then I used to grow radishes and honestly almost everything in a window box, it works like magic not only with radishes but with (as said) almost all the veggies, and you are right as always, if you take care of the soil the veggies and berries will thank you for that with great harvest !!! thanks for the video. as always! loveit

I tried growing radishes in shallow tubs with mixed results. Possibly overplanted them generally. Ended up with lots of foliage or lots of roots but seldom big radishes.
-
Such a great idea! I am going to try this. Hope there are more videos like this. :)
-
Great idea! Thanks for the info. Too hot here in Texas now (June) but I'll be trying this in the fall.

Absolutely love that idea, Gary. Love seeing small space container gardening getting shown and how easy it is.
