Per the Nature Conservancy and various other sources, Winter Creeper is highly invasive. Even if you do not live near a natural area, birds can spread the seeds. I'd suggest planting a native groundcover or at least something less rampant such as ajuga, Veronica "Georgia Blue", daylilies or Creeping Raspberry
