Green Manure | Planting Clover to Increase Nitrogen Levels
Tips, Tricks
Clover adds nitrogen into soil, making it easier to grow other types of food plots such as brassicas and corn. To increase your nitrogen levels, simply plant clover in the spring of the year and then disc it under before planting your brassica blend. This will ensure you get the most out of your food plot and have better deer hunting during the season.

Planting clover for nitrogen from green manure is a great ideal, but why apply expensive 40-0-0 fertilizer when the clover makes its own nitrogen in the soil. Wouldn't it be better to apply 0-10-10 for example to produce more roots and a healthy big plant to till under later. The 40-0-0 most like isn't even getting used by the clover if any, But it is helping the weeds take over in your clover plot instead. Think about that for a minute.
