I guess we got lucky b/c we didn't string it, yet still made a nice big head. We have 5 plants, 2 of which have huge heads & the others are coming along. Maybe we should go ahead & string the smaller ones to be on safe side. Thanks for video!

Do I have to plant again every year or can leave the plant in the ground?
-
So it only produces one time?

Hi Patrick. Another question about my broccoli. THey are probably only only 3-4 inches in diameter but the florets are already very rangy but today I noticed that they have small yellow flowers on them. Should I be allowing these to bloom. Is this normal? Thanks

Patrick, can you tell me when is the best time to tie up the broccoli. My flowers are 2 to 3 inches in diameter and growing fast. If you have a video or any advice on how to tie them up and, how high up the plant and how snug that would be very helpful.

Thanks for the string tip! My broccoli is too far along now to string as I can see some yellow spots which I believe indicates that it is blooming. Would you recommend cutting the broccoli head and then stringing it right away for the new heads?
-
When do you put the string on? I just started my starts
-
Nice job thank you Patrick.

Hey Pat, I showed your video to my environmental literacy class and they thought it was short and helpful. We realized that we don't have sting around our plant. Will this reduce the amount of broccoli crowns.

This is a way to end the life of your broccoli plant early. I couldn't chop the whole plant down like this, and I'm glad I didn't. I just took the broc head off, and now more broc is growing for me. This vid is great and all, but you can get more out of this plant if you JUST take off the broccoli crown. I mean, the plant is so big and offers so much more! Just think about all the good broccoli you are missing!
-
Why didn't you just take the top ? Doesn't more broccoli grow out along the stem if ya let it go a bit longer?
-
Thanks! We were wondering why our broccoli was all crazy...we'll have to tie it up next year!
-
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
-
