Goji Berries, A Tonic Herb and Superfruit Variety
Tips, Tricks
Goji berries are the red-orange fruits of certain Lycium species, highly revered as a major Chinese tonic herb for their blood building qualities and restorative effects on the liver, kidney and immune functions. Commonly brewed for centuries as an herbal substance in numerous tea preparations, they are known for their ability to replenish Yin Jing essence, the primordial energy of the body associated with the kidney-adrenal system, sexual libido and fertility. Containing specific phytonutrients, like lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBPs), they have been utilized for centuries as a Chinese tea ingredient in herbal formulations. Today they are commonly consumed in the West as a dried fruit or soaked and blended into drinks. Wonderful explanation and description

A few weeks ago I received my first bag of goji berries. Either my body didn't react well or I ate too many goji berries but I was up all night with pretty bad gastrointestinal disturbances, I threw up three times and had pretty bad diarrhea. I'm not sure if it's because my stomach is not used to digesting dried fruit or if I'm allergic to goji berries.

try all these things that may be good for you

CAUTION:nightshade&anticoagulant not good with strong blood thinners,i.e.warfrin,coumadin,xarelto,etc.

I soak a handful of them in water with some dried blueberries, while i cook up some millet. I add ground flax seed, hemp seed, raw cocoa, molasses, and some maple syrup. Top with some fresh berries and chopped brazil nuts, and you got the best tasting breakfast porridge you ever did have.
