NOOOO!!!!! He literally BUTCHERS the tree!!! That is NOT the proper way to trim a crepe myrtle!! Much better ones are ARextension, Gardenmagik, & VolunteerGardener. They all have great videos on how to prune your crape myrtles without murdering them.

I did all this and now I'm left with 3 main branches and nothing on them....no more growth for the past 2 years....I know its still alive cos it has suckers growing that I have to keep pruning out.
