Iris bulbs should be planted at least three inches deep. Iris rhizomes can be left on top of the soil. I planted the bulbs and rhizomes in the fall in the video and found I will lose them if I just place on top of the soil and we have a hard winter. They have grown much better for me if they have just a bit of soil on top and I have had many blooms. They multiply quickly. Thanks for watching my videos! Keep gardening naturally!

NO NO NO..you barely cover bearded iris rhizomes...Shame on you Yolanda!!! You should know better!!

Do NOT plant your iris rhizomes 3 inches deep. They like to be close to the surface of the soil with a small portion sticking out. They LOVE the warmth of the sun. Burying them too deep prevents them from getting the sun that they need and your iris rhizome will probably rot.
