I hate them! The previous people planted them all over my property. Chopping them down does nothing. I even burned the lell out of the stump of one I cut down and it started growing again right away. They grow from the roots too. We'll see how the like it when I mix up a strong batch of roundup and gas.

We live in a sand box with very little real dirt.Have 8 lilac with great greens and no flowers.The guy down the road has big lilac flowers blossoms every year.He told me he uses 50 % white vinegar and 50% water,to water his plants about every 2 or 3 months.Have you ever heard of such a thing?? and if so why does it work.We have always used white vinegar and dish soap to kill weeds. I planted over 75 lilacs around my fence line for privacy. the problem is some are sitting where a lot of ash and scrape metal was dug up while planting, these seem to be stunted compared to the rest of the bushes. Is there anything you could suggest to help the growth? All started at around 2ft tall most are now well over 6ft but for the group i mention they are between 3 and 4ft. I'm considering manure but I don't know if it will help. Any suggestions will be helpful thanks for your time.
