I highly consider bamboo plants as one of my preferences in my garden because you can actually plant it with any range of conditions. Aside from providing solution such as deforestation, having such plants are environmentally friendly.

hmm never had bamboo, sounds fun to grow!

...And then there's the clumsier bamboo that stays in more of a clump... What a joke. I watch these videos for comedy, not informative purposes.

You definately shouldnt place them in direct sunlight, it slows growth... placing in soil is also a bad idea, Bamboo likes rocks, such as fish tank gravel.

did you put a sheet of metal 24" deep along the circumference to keep them from taking over the yard? I really suggest it if you haven't, it would save you headaches.

I have Bamboo (clumping variety) and disagree with the tip to plant in direct sun, they will yellow and scorch like the plant she has, that plant does not look well at all, for Bamboo! Partial shade is best, the plant should be watered well and often, should be green and succulent like a healthy lawn, not yellowed and brittle. You can place them in sun, but water them even more if you do.

Haha 3 weeks, I moved into a house with that bamboo in the back yard, every inch was covered, I moved out 10 yrs. latter and its still there. No matter what we did, burn the soil, dig it up. Don't plant this unless you want a bamboo forest.
