There are many varieties of peonies you can grow, such as Hybrid, Single Flower, Semi-double, and more. When growing peonies, plant them in a spot that gets six to eight hours of direct sun a day. Plant these popular flowers in the fall and place the roots only an inch or two deep under the soil. When the plants are about six inches tall, place a peonies stake above them.
