spokane-county.wsu.edu has a really good guide to go by, now keep in mind that if you have really good soil, some vegetables won't need any fertilizer after planting an fruit growth. Tomatoes need feeding when 1st planted and every two weeks afterwards since they are heavy eaters. Good luck and keep growing.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate that. I do try to read but the majority of advice I've seen in the literature is "fertilize regularly" - Hard to know what that means.

depends on the plant, some are every two weeks from the first planting, some are once a month, some every four months, and some fruit - mainly fruit trees are semi annually to annually. it depends. get a good almanac or visit gardening websites and get educated not frustrated - good luck and keep gardening!

Constant fertilizing? Once a day. Every 2 hours. Once a month. What does it mean? This is such a common irritation with gardening. They say fertilize regularly but no one explains what regularly means. Haley's Comet visits earth regularly!

bell peppers can grow in containers. Even upside down. Only plants that I know that can grow upside down are Tomato, Peppers, and cucumbers properly. So a container is fine. The more sun you have the better. Peppers of all sorts eat up more of the sun. If the leafs on a pepper slag downward then give it water right away and watch its leafs go up in less than 2 hours or much sooner.

my gorsh. if he touches/squeezed that plant's leaf one more time...
