Nice video Brad inspite of the difficult lighting. i have read how difficult Rex Begonias are to grow in the home, but i have had no problems with them. i have a question on a different topic, i live in zone 7a eastern Tennessee, and i will be building my first greenhouse this spring ( its always been my dream to have one) for orchids what would you suggest as best heat source? natural gas, outside wood fired boiler? or other? thanks.

What I noticed in my house plants (tropical fruit saplings too), after they lived for a month or so ouside, during the summer, yes, their leaves were burned, but when the new ones came in they did not burn and they were a brighter green color.

How many species of plants do you have in your garden?

Hey Brad,
I recently acquired a Lycaste orchid. It is my first. It is a deciduous type Lycaste. I received it potted all crammed into one corner of the pot. One pseudobulb is touching the rim. There is more space in the pot but it was positioned in the corner instead of the middle. I am worried that when the growth comes in, it will be crammed against the corner of the pot and will warp or become disfigured. At the same time, I am worried about repotting when it won't be growing for several months and that I will harm the growth cycle in some way. What would you do? -
they can proprogate from leaf cuttings, just like an African violet😉

The second one you showed is begonia "Escargot"

Begonias!! I commented awhile ago saying you should give them a whirl, they're absolutely amazing orchid companions

By the way, not all the begonias that you show are rex. 'rex' is species. The one with a black cross is B. masoniana.

It's so pleasant that other people who collect very exotic plants ( aroids from South_eastern Asia are may favorites) also like begonias
