Growing cauliflower this year. Thank you for the excellent tutorial.

Can tell me what kind of beans you planted to get nitrogen for the tomatoes?
-
Also, what kind of beans did you plant to put nitro into soil?

Thank you for the great video! I see it was in 2011, are you still gardening? I would love to ask more about cauliflower. Mine are from seeds. They are now at 69 days and look great. But... no curd yet and I am afraid I planted too close together. Will that affect how they grow? Will it 'suffocate' the roots (my Dad always called it 'root bound') so that no curds grow, just leaves? Thanks again!

Wow. I did not know we have to do that. Very informational. Thanks for the video.

I had trouble with mine this year. I used a cord to tie them. We had a lot of wind and the leaves pulled right out from the cord. I'd been under the weather for a couple days and didn't realize it had happened. Now I have beige cauliflower. Your plants look great.

Beautiful veggies thank for videos

mylar may be better... or putting a white coating on the foil?
-
That is an interesting idea, I may try that with mine this year, but pay close attention because if it is too hot, the reflection of the light may burn the leaves.. Tomas

i'm pretty sure liquid nitrogen would kill it, but why would you want to even use that? wouldn't that be a little expensive sense it would just turn to gas?
-
I will give it a try next time I plant some.. Thank for the tip! Tomas

yellow cauliflower doesn't taste that bad

I'm pretty sure the leaves are what breaths, since there is no chlorophyll inside the actual flower otherwise it would be green. If you want to be safe about it you can also use something that is breathable.
-
That's an interesting idea, but wouldn't the bag chokethe flower? It could rot under the bag... Tomas
-
i would suggest using a bag, this way the leaves can be exposed to the sunlight and make the flowers bigger.

Sorry, i didn't quite get your questions? Pour nitrogen on the cauliflower? I'm not sure if purple cauliflowers need to be closed with the leaves but i don't think so. I tried to grow somefrom seed but they didn't germinate but they are supposed to be good.. Tomas
-
you can pour liquid nitrogen on them? that is heathy for cauliflower? what about purple cauliflower?
-
Covering the flower prevents it from becoming yellow, so even with little sun if you want it to be a perfect white you need to cover it. It doesn't take more than 20 seconds specially if you only have one.. Tomas
