Hi Gary, im living in ho chi minh city, vietnam, and ive just received some Jalapeno seeds. Jalapenos are very hard to come by here, we usually only find them canned. i used to grow habaneros successfully back home in Ohio, but im a bit nervous about growing jalapenos here. currently we have a daytime high of 97 and a nighttime low of 78. my apartment gets plenty of sun and fair amount of breeze all day. any advice? or precautions i should take? thanks!

I just planted some pepper seeds like this but in potting soil (didn't have any seed starter) but do you think they would be ok in potting soil and is it ok if I leave them outside but bring them in during rain?

I added garden tone to my jiffy starter mix is that okay?

Gary, I was finding popsicle sticks got hard to read as they got darker and they also collected mold. Cutting labeling sticks out of old window blind slits with an box cutter is very easy

Can I grow them hydroponically and then transplant them to soil?

Here in Thailand we don't have a tray those size you have for seeding. We have a small size ...I think I will seed in the yogurt cup instead.

So do they need light before they sprout? I have mine in front of a heat vent with a dome on and no light yet, should I move them to my lights even though it's cooler? It's only been about a few days since I planted the seeds and germination yet.
-
if both seeds germinate, do I put them in seperate pots?

Thank you!!

how often would you recommend watering peppers after having planted the seeds? Do you need to water them everyday?
-
should the tray be kept in the dark or can it be kept in the light?
-
do peppers prefer any soil?

I'm trying to get my pepper seeds started this week. Do you recommend pre-soaking the seeds themselves before planting?

Hi! I always have a problem with over watering. I started watering from the bottom, like you suggest, and do notice a difference. However, I think I am still watering too much. How often do you water your seedlings? Yours always look so healthy!
