The western part of South Africa is semi-desert / dry/ arid area....it is called the WEST COAST (the Atlantic ocean is cold that is why the land is so dry - if you go up along the coast you get to Namibia which is mostly a desert along the coast (SKELETON COAST) the eastern part is more tropical anything from the (East London) WILD COAST UPWARDS TO MOZAMBIQUE is tropical - hot humid weather... because of the warm sea currents bringing moisture and rain...White arum/calla lilies want their feet in water and their faces in the sun...so if you have a very wet area that is full sun they will thrive and bless you with a cloud of white in your garden. wow look at the foliage on that calla! I don't know what I am doing wrong but mine have curly/wavy drooping foliage and I've only gotten 1-3 blooms from 4 corms. Also the blooms spathes of the flowers are green. What am I doing wrong here?

I have a colored calla lily.. (we are on a warm climate) should I put my calla lilies on a vase with fewer water content? or.. is it not recommended to be placed on anything with water in it? I realised after putting them in a vase yesterday - the stem of the colored calla lily... became.. really wet.. for some reason..I can't stop few inches of it since the stems wasn't so sturdy anymore - like how it should be. So I am confused how to actually care for these calla lilies that are colored.

Calla lilies bloom early summer here in the NW and then they die back in heat so it sounds like they are done with their cycle in CA and AZ. Place them in part shade in warm climates, sun in cooler climates. Trim the foliage back if it doesn't look healthy and it may grow lush again. I usually cut them back when they get burned in the heat and they come back with lush greens.

I live in Northern California, East Bay, and my calla lillies are wilted. I water and i feed them plant food. They get morning to mid afternoon sun. the center is tall and straight up but the edges are not doing so well. What am i doing wrong? Or not doing? Thank you.

Okay, I live in AZ and my mom gave me a really dark purple almost black Calla Lily for a gift for my birthday almost a couple of weeks ago and they are drying out. I am keeping them moist as much as possible but not over watering them. I am in an area where is a dry heat and very hot here. I put it outside and it started wilting and when indoors I put it in the window as much as possible where the sun hits, but I'm not sure what I am doing is right......what do I do to keep it thriving? HELP!
