I live in Indiana, do you think I should plant mine in the shade?

If you chop down most hydrangeas, macrophyllas, they will not bloom next year. You tell us you chop yours to the the ground but tell us to leave 1/3 above ground. Most hydrangeas do not die back to the ground either only the large leaf or arborescans do this. YOU ARE CLUELESS
