can you trnasplant bulbs while thier still vegging?

Actually, bearded iris should be planted so the rhizomes are above ground. I plant mine sort of half-way in. Otherwise they are very prone to rotting when the soil gets wet.

never cover you iris with dirt if you do it should be sand and only for the first 2-3 monthes then when roots are stable pull them up to the surface. if you keep them covered they will rot. adventually when you get a giant clump they will start getting covored but thats normal just seperate them
