What Zone are you in? I have soaked my leek and onion seed today based on your video ...I should have done more checking first. I am in Zone 6 in Southern Ohio and I see nothing on any site that says you can plant Leek or Onion seed this late in the Fall

If I bought an onion at the supermarket then I will plant it will it grow or do I still need to buy the seeds for it?

Do you do anything special to them over the winter? Like covering the bed with straw or watering them at all? I live in a pretty dry climate.

Im in zone 7. I count fall as Sept. My night start getting into the 50's and 60's. Timing here for the garlic is October. I got the best harvest from that batch in the video come this past June. For the onions and leeks, the did fine but I found I could just start them indoors in Jan or Feb and transplant them out. It was as effective. But I did like watching them grow from seed.

Finally! A clear and concise video on how to plant Onions, Leeks, and Garlic! Perfect demonstration of soil content, planting depth, clove orientation, seed preparations, and more! This video demonstrated Fall planting. When do you consider the garden to be in Fall? What temperature high during the day? What temperature low at night?

Yes MUD smudge!

Nothing special but bonemeal would certainly be a bonus. Leeks are very hardy and a great addition to the garden. You can almost plant and forget them.

Carrots arent hard to grow but they take some prep. You really need sandy loose soil. They dont like growing in clay or hard soil. They also can take a while to germinate and grow.

Is carrots hard to grow?
