Fall Gardening: Inspecting, Treating and Planting Kale and Collard Greens - TRG 2014
Tips, Tricks
Kale and collard greens love cool weather. They are ready in 50-60 days. They can withstand a freeze, often over winter and they will bring you spring greens if you are in the right zone. They make a great fall crop. Check out my vegetable gardening blog: The Rusted Garden. It is filled with garden information, videos, pictures, seed catalogs and seeds & things I sell. www.therustedgarden.blogspot.com Join My Google+ Gardening Community called Our Tomato & Vegetable Gardens - we are approaching 5000 world-wide gardeners: https://plus.google.com/communities/114956817444053979636 or Link from My YouTube Page.

Gary, is it possible to buy a few of those triggers from you? Would love to have them, I'm serious

Good video! Thanks for the tips. Really like the sprayer that I received with the neem oil order, and I found I am quite the believer on how it works with the nasty cabbage caterpillar, green ones and black ones too. Excellent tips on treating with neem oil and soap along with planting tips on kale. I don't really find the smell of neem oil offending, more like a nutty garlic smell to me.

I am "reassured" that you can just spay the insecticide with bare hands. We do prefer to use organic, non-toxic options. I just purchased your Neem Oil/Sprayer kit and will be looking forward to using your higher quality neem oil. (I tried to order your tomato seeds - love your tomato profile videos, but was unable to find an "order" button. Rats.)

Hi. Good video, thanks. I have listened to your www.... url / address 4 times and I am still unable to make out what you are saying (I am partially deaf). Could you please add it to your notes?

Accidentally pulled all my kale from my garden. I thought it was radishes that weren't growing well.

Nicely done. Towards the end, I saw wooden stakes. Did you cut those up yourself or did you buy them?

Looks great +Gary Pilarchik. Enjoy those greens!

Great sprayer ! Good vid :o)

Thank you Gary for this video. Now I know that I can use neem oil on my kale. Problem is the smell, to me, is unbearable. I'm actually not looking forward to eating the leaves I will have to spray neem oil with because of the smell, although it's organic.

Oh my gosh, I love that sprayer. I looked at Home Depot online since we don't have any near us, but couldn't find one. Is this an older bottle, or is it something they still carry in their stores? Love your videos.

I just started using the Neem oil this year. Is it just me or does that stuff smell disgusting? It reminds me of a medicine smell when I was a kid. Maybe it was Amoxicillin?

Another inspiring garden video Gary. Keep up the great work.

Great tips Gary...especially the spacing. Had to learn that one.
