This is Part 2 of our series of videos that show people how to design a great exercise program to improve life activities, such as gardening. Quite often we see many clients who have injured their lower back from working in the garden. Sometimes severe back injury like a disc bulge from doing simple movements like pulling a weed out of the ground! In almost every case this could have been avoided if the person had been completing a series of stretches and exercises to prepare them for this type of activity. Regardless of your age, a strength training program that includes practicing great movements is a must, otherwise you will risk hurting yourself with life activities. Or even worse begin to avoid these activities with the belief that it is not good for you. Which is crazy. Why would you want to stop playing golf, or play with the kids or in this case enjoy getting into the garden because there is a fear of hurting your back. Now just doing any sort of crazy training will not help you either. Your exercise program must adopt a series of fundamental guidelines in order to succeed. Just strengthening muscles or trying to get fit is not going to make you move better. Either is lying on your back completing so called "Core" exercises wont help. And why? Because you need to teach your body how to complete movements standing up as this is where you hurt yourself so this is what you need to become the best at. Some of the lying down exercises are great to start with but they will not finish the job, you must evolve into a standing position and learn through massive repetition what is the perfect movement to prevent your back pain and also make things in life easy. So in this video we show 2 exercises you can use to help you significantly. The Deadlift and the Lunge which is the art of bending and the art of getting close to the ground using your legs and not your back. Go to our website and watch the video on Deadlift Technique http://www.noregretspt.com.au/index.php/article/111-deadlift-technique This will give you some really good ideas as to how to do this right We also have a good video on Lunge Technique if you are unsure of how to do this Plus you can subscribe to our FREE email newsletter we send weekly by going to this link http://noregretsfnybb.viprespond.com/ So I hope this video helps you if you are someone who has suffered from back pain while gardening.
