Used crunched up egg shells as fertilizer for my air layered lychee tree. I also mixed a little bit of used coffee grounds. Stay tuned in a month time of its progress. Thanks. Fertilizer (or fertiliser) is any organic or inorganic material of natural or synthetic origin (other than liming materials) that is added to a soil to supply one or more plant nutrients essential to the growth of plants. Very nice my friend. My husband likes 2 eat a lot of eggs. I do 2 things with them first I will have my husband crack just the top of them and then I take & rinse them out, dry them & then I take & poke a hole on the bottom of the egg shell. I then fill them with my soil that I make, put a seed in them, water them & set them under a plant light. You'd B amazed what U can grow. But with that U do have 2 water them every day because they'll dry out real quick because they're so small. Or my husband will just crack the egg regularly & again I will rinse them out, let them dry completely, crunch them up & stick them i a container. Then when that container is full, I put them in my coffee grinder that I have just 4 my egg shells & grind them down 2 a powder. Then I just add it 2 my special soil that I make 4 my plants. My plants seem 2 Luv it. It's a very good source of calcium 4 the plans. Thanx 4 sharing.

can it be good for papaya tree too

Plant do not have stomac, you need to bake the egg for at least 30 mins to break the nutrients for the plant to eat it. Otherwise... it dosent do much.

lie-Chee I think that's how lychee is pronounced (since it's an asiatic word)

The eggsshells need 2 minutes in microwave before used for plants.

I think using a blender would be much easier

Just a note as others have said. Wash and then scrub the eggs with a fruit brush (used for scrubbing fruit). Then place the shells on a cookie sheet or equivalent. Then place them in the oven to get them dry and brittle. Once eggshells are cool place them in a grinder like for coffee. Grind to a flour consistency unless spreading it in the wind. This is the best way to fertilize most gardens. Enjoy
