I read something about this. If I remember right, summer and winter squash won't usually cross with each other, also the basic recommendation of keeping squash varieties on opposite sides of the yard was recommended. I suspect that if you didn't have enough room for that, then you could probably put one or more type in a greenhouse and manually pollinate the ones that are housed (and obviously avoid crossing them yourself).

Hmm,not really. What was the result of the accidental hybridization? I imagine it happens pretty frequently in nature.

but the point of this video is not to grow sweet potatoes necessarily, but to find what does grow well naturally in your area. No matter where you are there will be SOME indigenous edibles that you can grow with little to no work.

I'll look into that, thanks for the info. But as another commenter has pointed out, you can eat the greens too. This plant would make a lot of salads!

Do you have any choice in your ads before your clips? Some of them seem very counter to what you teach. Thanks for the great vid!

that's how I've heard them referred to in order to differentiate from the yams. Not sure what the official nomenclature is for each kind

find out how to clip the vine. if you do there will be more potato and less vine. same with tomatos. if you clip the suckers off you get more tomatos and the vine stays managable.

What part of the country do you live in? (Would help me decide if this applies.)
