~Easy Bean (Garden) Teepee & Spring Projects~
Tips, Tricks
I constructed a bean "tee-pee" out of 7 bamboo poles and garden twine - very simple, sturdy and easy to make! All bean seedlings have now been planted in the garden. The large garden area has been weeded, soil amended and weed barrier put in place. The strawberry pot has been emptied and will be replanted.

Hi, great idea for the bean pole trellis. i'm a first time bean planter and am using grow bags. I think that I can stake the poles in the bag and secure them as you have. Thanks for this tip.

That'll be great! I know you'll love it :)

I like your gardening style! I definitely will make a teepee this year.

Hi there :) It's surprising what 1 extra hour of sun can do! The back ones are now trying to catch up - they are just starting to climb the teepee. I think in a way it's good, the harvest will be staggered a bit. Thanks for watching and helping, I really appreciate it :) The teepee is working out great - we had a huge wind storm the week before last and it held up fine, make one, it's easy!

In a later video you wondered why the beams in the front are taller than the ones in the back. It's probably because if the amount of sun they are getting. Look at this video. The ones in the back are in the shade. I'm going to try this teepee.

Hi, thanks for watching :) So far, the beans seem to enjoy reaching for the bamboo - hope they keep behaving.

Nice bean teepee. I am sure the little plants will love it!

Hi and thanks for your always kind comments. The weed barrier is doing pretty well, the weeds still try to push through the edges, but as long as most of it is weed-free, I'm happy. The trellis is working out really well, the beans in the front of it are growing nicely, the rest are kind of stagnant. I've grown pole beans in the past and they did great, last year not so well. I guess I'm just determined to get them going lol! I have a few runner beans I should plant, too. Take care :)

Wow, you made a lot of progress. The weed barrier idea is excellent and the melons should like the extra warmth. I really like the bamboo trellis you made. You should have a great harvest (if the weather cooperates:). I have tried poles beans every year and I never get more than a handful. But I love fresh beans so I keep trying. This year I am trying my luck with runner beans. Take care!

Hi, thanks for watching. I added some wood mulch/chips to my garden last year. It's taken quite awhile to break down, but has helped the soil alot.

Hi Glyn, The tunnel sounds great! It'll be fun to see it up :)

Thanks for watching :) So far it seems to be working pretty good, just need the beans to cooperate lol!

Hi Robin, spring started on Wednesday 20th then 6-8" on the 22nd with temperature not rising above 2deg. Home made polytunnel to come regards Glyn.

I like this idea...thanks again for sharing.

Hello. Glad to have found your channel :) If you were nearby I'd let you come cut down some of our bamboo, lol. Cannot wait to see how this goes. Subscribed! As for your garden - we are trying out the Back to Eden method, if you will, and are seeing some great progress. Come check it out on our channel, might give you an idea.

Hi Glyn, thanks for watching and the nice comment. When does Spring come for you? Take care, Robin

Raised beds will be great! I keep saying I want to build some, but never get around to it, maybe by next Spring I'll have a few :) Ontario, okay, that's cold! Never been to Detroit, but flew over Michigan several times :) Take care..
-
lol Yes, the easy part is done, now comes the less straight forward task of helping them grow and stay healthy ;) I'm hoping by the end of the weekend our temps will be steadily above freezing. I'll be building a few raised beds very soon. I'm in Southern Ontario, about a ten minute drive from Detroit Michigan. :)
