Sterile isn't the best.. if you can find potting mixes with mycorrhizae mixed in with it you will have superb results.

@3timescrazy1 Earthboxes cost about $50. They work well, but aren't the only option.

thats what he says here, to use potting mix not soil. He refers to the medium as 'soil' though, but hey its easier to say than "potting mix" every single time

This guy is wrong on so many levels. All of his earthbox videos tell you the wrong way to plant and earthbox. You use potting mix NOT SOIL. Of course if he had ever planted an earthbox before he'd know.

I think that earthbox says you should use potting mix, not soil. Potting Mix doesn't absorb the water like soil does. The mix prevents your plants roots from rotting.
