wrong. if you want to reseed your lawn you have to cut it really low with the lawn mower and then you lay down the seed and top it with seed topper. (we do this in lawn care company's) ask any gardener

which aerator to use in sandy soil(spike or plug)??

I should have meantioned that I live on the East coast of Fl.

I have a centipede lawn, quite a few bare spots and 1 stripe about 18 x 28 that I want to sod. I prefer St Augustine, is it alright to mix, and will the St Augustine work in the patch areas, or hopefully take over the Centipede. Or will the Centipede take over the St Augustine. Or finally, should I not mix the two?

Forget Roundup as it is a cancer causing glyphosate and will stay in your lawn forever. Forget kids playing on the lawn and no one should ever go barefoot.

I have never did any lawn repair or reseed and i need advice/help, my question is to maintain my lawn which time of the year is best, i made my search and they says its in fall and if there's winter damage to do it in spring.
what are steps to follow i did last week the aeration. Is it too late now or i will wait till september?

my 2nd question, i'm going to get truck of a high quality soil, which grass seed should i be using? and what the difference between them?

Ah crap, I thought cutting and watering is all you needed to do..

None of it does any good if it doesn't get enough sunlight. I don't have much. nothing works.

That's a lot of Monsanto/Scotts GMO grass.

you'll waste 90% of your seeds just spreading it on the lawn. you need to topdress with 1/4" soil amendment first. don't waste your time or $ otherwise.

Great idea to remove the thatch first before you over seed. Last year I used a power de-thatcher before the new seed. Lots of thatch came off so be sure to rake it all up. I applied the seed and watered as much as I could to keep the new grass seed moist. The new seeded lawn turned out great.

Caring for lawns is an art and I definitely do not have it down.
