It has been my experience over the last five decades or so that those home made "bio degradable" pots don't degrade easily at all and can inhibit proper root growth once planted.

AWESOME.....when I started having friends saved toilet paper rolls they thought I was nuts.....BUT when I had them over to show them what I did with them NOW they keep there TP rolls.....BUT hey it helps them so be it. I love using the TP rolls the seeds don't move when they are planted....and as time progressed they dissolve.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the old blinds for INFO stakes.....wow never thought about it. It's nice because even good will NOT except those METAL blinds....you can have free stakes for life.
IF I MAY....I use my shredder paper to compost and to cover new planting. Here in Bakersfield Ca. it gets HOT 110 plus sometimes and the shredded paper helps keep the roots cool all summer long!! THE soil loves the paper and so do the worms..... SO it is a great use for the mail you grind up.
I have used the eggs and coffee grounds for years now...
Let me ask please.....I let my beets go to seed in their second year in the ground.....NOW they are loaded with seeds. I can't find a GOOD picture of what the brown seeds look like....You said you left your beets in the ground...DID YOU GET SEEDS?? IT did take 2 full years....the beets are the size of a football now....BUT the seeds is what I want.
When you have a chance could you let me know about your beets and if you have some vids of the process...
LOVED your vids....I am not on face book or twitter so email or this is it!!
Thank you so very much....blessing... -
