nice video

what's your pepper to pepper spacing? do you just spread basil in between? great result btw!
-
nice results mate, I'm definitely gonna try this combination

Seems like peppers like touching basil as well as each other. I'll be planting a lot more basil in more varied places this year now. Thanks.

didn't know we'd have the same main three plants in the garden before watching but how long did it take for your marigolds to bolt? I've also broadcast some basil but along with snapdragon and Johnny Jump ups. From then to now with the noreast weather I've lost the peppers but retransplanted Scotch Bonnets. I thought the chamomile was springing up till I saw your marigolds

Excellent garden. I will be planting basil with my peppers.

I expected a hot dry season, but we get what nature gives us and anymore it seems nature has been altered by man so much that it's hard to judge how any season will turn out given all the radiation and pollution that we spew into our environment.

they all looked good and healthy... but if they were wider apart, they might have grown much bigger during a good rainy season... the close planting probably ahve worked out in more favor for better growth during dry season
-
Last year was a much better pepper season for me, I think they like the hot, dry weather over cool and wet. My red bells that I saved from last season did pretty good though along with the jalapenos and cayennes.

Another great video! Thanks for all your gardening videos. My bells did pretty good after we finally got some warm weather. I'm back from Manitoba for the year. I'm looking forward to your future videos.

I gave an update on that back in late July, the video is titled using sunflowers as a living trellis for cucumbers - learning experience and lessons learned..
-
Didn't you plant cuckes to grow up your sunflower plants? Can you update us on that?
-
Pretty much zero weeds in that pepper bed. The other beds are full of weeds, the rain really kept them popping up all season as quick as I could pick them.
-
I seem to get lucky with peppers and tomatoes, everything else is up in the air. Now that garden season is winding down Rich maybe I can get back to some bushcraft and such. :)
-
Great vid, Roosevelt! I haven´t been very successful with peppers, I´m going to try it your way next year, thanks amigo, all the best!
-
Very nice job! I would imagine it also keeps the weeds to a minimum, which I had a lot this year, they seem to like all the rain we had!
-
We thought about it, but the person who was doing the cooking might still be just a bit camera shy. :) Next time we make the stuffed peppers we'll definitely make a video of it.
-
That sounds delicious! You should have posted a video on that.

Thanks Mark!

the three sisters was the best combo for keeping away those who munch and chew, corn, beans and squash. As far as the other plants I've yet to find something to keep them away other than using a tea made from mint, garlic, hot peppers and marigolds. Companion planting marigolds throughout the garden may help to deter pests, but it doesn't keep them away completely.
