A guide to farming in Clash of Clans at Town Hall 8. This video shows two possible army compositions and 3 total raids. The first army composition, which I consider "well-rounded", is 10 giants, 10 wallbreakers, and a relatively even split between Archers and Goblins. This army is shown in the first and second videos. It is a bit beefier, and can crack deep into an opponent's base to get a DE storage if you use spells and the Barbarian King, as shown in video 2. Another option is just pure Archers and Barbarians, which actually is a faster farming composition if your only focus is resources. This is shown in the third video. You can farm "non stop" with this approach, as the training time on the units is so short. Try not to spend all your units, and instead look to snipe full resource collectors and Town Halls (to maintain trophy count). The pros of using the first strategy are that it is better for getting Dark Elixir and can crack tougher bases. The downsides to the first army is cost (around 60,000 elixir or so for a full 200/200 army) and time to create (around 25 minutes or so for a 200/200 army). The Barbarian and Archer (Barcher) army is much cheaper (only around 10,000 elixir) and trains faster (less than 20 minutes). However, it cannot crack tough bases and really is only good for sniping mines, collectors, drills and Town Halls. The second approach actually brings in more gold and elixir per hour, but it requires more playtime. You might want to opt for this approach if you are just trying to power quickly to TH9, where it is easier to get Dark Elixir.
