Ray my family has a garden which is generally good and we planted some green beans. The plants are huge but are not producing anything. Have any advice?

I put out parsley just for the swallowtails. I have quite a few caterpillars. They really are kind of cute in their own way. I also have thousands of milkweed plants on my acreage for the monarchs.

Yep, getting some of that splitting on my tomatoes too. Watered my plants this morning, but now I'm getting rain. Very hot, and the humidity is through the roof here in Pa. Lots of tomatoes going to family, neighbors, and friends. Glad to get a look at Boxcar Willie - it is just going nuts! Tnx 4 sharing ..... take care.

Hi. I am in Texas zone 7a?, I grow cinnamon basil for the flowers only. I let it reseed each year. It is a lovely lavender color that the bees love!

Oh yeah, I gotta put two of my red onions back in the ground. Thanks for that info.

So amazing how much faster you get crops so much earlier than we do here on the East Coast in Delaware. WE are just now getting things ready to pick for the past two weeks starting with squash and zucchini then tomatoes. Beans and peas are just been able to pick for the past several days. Very interesting.

I planted my Tiny Tim tomato plant in a container on my very very small balcony and it is now more than 6 feet high. I guess I didn't know how to pinch back or what to pinch back. Do you have a detailed video on growing tomatoes in a 12" container (small balcony) with detailed instruction on how to keep the plant manageable? Any help would be appreciated even though it's too late for this summer, i can print out your instructions for next summer.

I have a question about compost. I just started composting this year using a 5 gallon bucket on the deck off my kitchen. In just 2 months my bucket is full! As we add kitchen scraps I've been manually turning it over and adding cardboard since there are no brown leaves here at this time of year. I'ts not finished yet as it still has some breaking down to do, but I am going to start a new bucket. Here in New England we shut our gardens down in October in preparation for winter freeze and I'm wondering what to do with that 5 gallons of compost over the winter. As I see it my choices are seal it into another bucket and store it somewhere cold and dark till spring, or go ahead and spread the compost after I rip out the plants and put the garden to sleep for the winter. I also have many containers for tomatoes on my deck and could store it in those, open to the winter elements. Which do you see as being most beneficial? Also for over winter composting, I wont have access to my deck in winter due to the depths of snow we get, so for over winter/indoors composting how would you handle that? I am considering a sealed ceramic or stainless container to keep in my kitchen to toss scraps into but am afraid that will rot & stink.

Ray ! I accidentally left 2 onions from last year. I didn't ate them and they grew some little onions at the very top. Are these onion seeds ? I don't know if you can plant them in fall since the "forgotten ones" came back this year ?
