Carrot Growing TIp: Thinning Container Seedlings for Better Harvest //Growing Your Fall Garden EXTRA
Tips, Tricks
Growing carrots in your fall garden is easy with this simple tip - thin them when they are young to get a better harvest. In this video, I show you how I thin my carrots in containers by snipping the seedlings rather than pulling them. This same method also works for beets, radishes, turnips, lettuce, or any other tiny seedlings. Visit https://calikimgardenandhome.com to get your free growing guide, “Grow 3 Vegetables in 6 Weeks”. This is the part I hate to do and I normally wait to long :(

I had no idea you could eat carrot greens! I came a little late to the planting party so, I bought some plants from green thumb and I just planted a bunch of veggies on my apartment patio yesterday! How would you thin out beets, do they need to be thinned?

It looks great! I planted some onions, cauliflower, broccoli, grn. curled kale and red russian kale, and cabbage in my garden. Gotta get out there to plant some of those veges you got there in your smart pots. Was wondering how well they might would do on concrete since it does tend to keep in more heat than the ground. Because I got a pretty good sized area in my back yard that would be great to actually grow something on it. Plus I kinda don't like a ton of little pots everywhere, just to grow a good amount of plants, know what I mean? Lol Great video, loved it!

I planted atomic reds about 3 weeks ago, and nothing. I look every day. I'm not sure if I should be patient or plant more. although it is getting pretty chilly here.

I thinned out my carrots today, but I pulled them, hopefully I did not disturb the roots for the ones left. Next time I will sure use a scissor 😊

Pruning plants almost feels like aborting them! It is so hard for me. This is what I'm doing soon. Some time ago I saw or heard of mixing your seed with flour and water, then use a squirt bottle to plant . I'm hoping planting 1 1/2" to 2" apart will be a breeze. I also grow in containers.
