Did he say soiless mixture? Not sure what that is.

I live in a cold climate and I read that it was best to plant the cuttings, once rooted near to or just after the first frost. Advice?

Wonderful. Just done that with several types of conifers. Also put some cuttings from white fir. Firs can be propagated thrue cutings also, right ?
