Can you grow Zucchini in a pot??
Tips, Tricks
This video is about growing Zucchini or Courgettes in pots. You can still grow your own even if you don't have a veggie patch. As long as you have some sunshine and some water you should be on your way to fresh veggies in your own back yard or even indoors in pots. I used a good container potting mix that i bought from the Plant Barn. You can add an organic fertiliser to boost the growth of your plant and its fruit.

How do you know they are females...they don't have balls?

What I like to add is, the difference between growing in pots and ground is they don't produce as fast or as much in pots. Most important thing thought we are growing your own food.

why do you have to pollinate them? does anyone know? also, has anyone seen a video on pollinating them? thank you in advance

How many gallons in the container?

I'm going to try growing zucchini in a large tub. I've never grown cocozella, and am not sure how big they will get.

I like your video!.So which flower do you eat the male or the one with the zucchini?

I've got a couple squash and zucchini plants that are sexist, for a month now they have only produced male flowers. Does anyone know if I can pick and save the male flowers with the pollen in them for when my plants do finally produce female plants that I can hand pollinate? If so, what's the correct way to store the males and/or pollen? I've already saved a few males with pollen in them; I put them in a ziplock bag inside the crisper in the frig. Or should they be saved in a very dry area warm area? Can I scrape the pollen off the males and save it to pollinate the females when they start to show up? Thanks in advance for your response.

You made mention of making sure to fertilize the zucchini if grown in buckets...what do you use/recommend?
-
more earth in the pot, more watering, a lite mulch on top of soil to retain some moisture & a small amount of tomato food--all these will help your zucc plants enormously.. good luck...

Thanks for your reply Kendyl. I picked you were from Sth Africa but a couple your words/sentences remind of things my Kiwi friends say. My wife and I live in Manchester, UK. We are from Sydney originally, so I know what it feels like to away from family and where one was born. However, we are returning in a few months, after living here for 17yrs. We have friends who are home farmers just north of Auckland. Their daughter is the church we attend. Wishing you all the best. Regards to your hubby from me. Cheers David. :)
