1:22 that plant is a yucca species. The plant between the yuccas looks like sedum of some sort.

I have one growing for 6mos now, when do they bloom?
-
looking good.

That smaller plant does not look like a Jade to me. I'm not sure if I am spelling it right, but it looks like a Kahlancho to me. Your Birds are beautiful. I was just searching to see if I could set mine out at the shore in SC, but it does get below 50 degrees there.

does u have ant seeds to donate I would love to have some in my yard thank u
-
why the hell would you tear it all out and plant grass? that's lame.
-
Please add a lot of sawdust or wood chips, your clay soil is hard and dry, you need a lot more organics added to
it such as crushed leaves incorporated into the soil. -
Giant Birds of Paradise are hell to take out you will have a thousand roots that look like white carrots.
Next you other small plant with the one inch pedals is called a Jade plant.
And you last plant that is tall with sharp leaves is a yucca plant. -
Fantastic Bird of Paradise that would cost 800 pounds in the UK, that's around 1400 US dollars! They are one of the most expensive plants to buy in UK especially to get them to flower. All those flowers and the size it might even make 1000 pounds!

your birds are really nice and lots of flowers as well as your Yucca tree. You should plant some smaller succulents between them like aloes and agaves. Grass by itself would be just boring and needs more care. You could also divide your birds of paradise just to thin them out a bit and get new growth.

hopefully you did not put grass...... your garden is beautiful as it is and if you add more plants you will have a great garden and not a boring one like most of the people. thanks for sharing

What zone are you in or what state?

Beautiful plants :)) Yeah it's a yucca tree. The white flowers it produces are edible and they tastes like cabbage :) In Spanish it's called flor de Palma

wooooow!!! you are so lucky you living somewhere tropical. I am planning to get a bird of paradise this summer and try keeping as indoor plant. I have a jade for about 20 years and has bloomed only 1 time i have never seen one with soo many flowers on it, and the yucca is aweome also. I am in Minnesota, is not so good here for tropical plants ... thanks for sharing

Came with the house. I did not know it was a seed. I saw the roots and they where pretty thick. Reason why they are so big is because they get sun all day!
-
Birds of paradise do that. They flower nicely and then they turn ugly. I think is just their normal life cycle. Look into how to trim them. I think once they go ugly you would need to remove that stem so another can grow but don't quote me on this. I seen gardeners do this a lot and I did it myself. I know if they get sun all day long they will get big like mine.

Hi, I have a bird of paradise in my house as well it is flowering well, but the flowers gets dark and ugly just after they open, and ants moving in and out of them! I am wondering if I have a different type of Bird of Paradise or I should use some chemicals in some sort. do you have any suggestion for me?
