Tips, Tricks
John from http://www.growingyourgreens.com/ shares with you the best pepper to overwinter that will still fruit even in the cold weather that can almost survive a frost. You will learn about the Manzano Pepper (Capsicum pubescens) that is one of the most cold tolerant but not frost tolerant pepper plants that prefers cooler temperatures and likes to fruit when its cooler outside. You will learn how John transplants his pepper plants from a raised bed into a 5 gallon pot with his tips to ensure you have a greater level of success digging up and overwintering your plants. After watching this episode, you will learn about one of the most cold tolerant pepper plants that you can grow in an unheated greenhouse in zone 9 and potentially others. Another hot pepper that has stayed alive in my garden for at least two years is one called "Chile Negro" or "King Cobra" - I have had it outside all the te, and it still lives and makes lots or peppers. It looks like Chile de Arbol, bit itight be different. The pepper - if it is Chile de Arbol - is not even as hot on the Scoville scale as a habanero, but the heat is far more punishing (at least to me). That one survives very well in my experience.
