Ok, this green gentleman farmer needs some help from my farmer friends:
OK, made raised beds, put in the soil, enhanced it with worm casting, fish fertilizer, and 13-13-13 fertilizer.
Planted the beans.
Everything going pretty good--started to get beans.
THEN
I am not sure but the plants have developed some type of fungus or something. Leaves started to turn silvery red with spots, stopped producing beans.
SO, I decided to pull them all up and replant.
Just finished pulling them up. Started to turn the soil, get rid of as many roots as I can.
Strange---found NO earthworms!
So, I am thinking of digging up a part of the yard where I suspect there are worms, and then putting those worms in the freshly dug up bed before replanting!
Any thoughts

I wish I had seen this video before I planted my garden. I could imagine that the newspaper helps to keep the weeds away also. I might put some down and re-mulch.

This was helpful. I planted mine in a long single row nearest to my walk path. I like the idea of small short rows.

I didnt know you could plant two bean plants together like that. Don't they both bush out and overcrowd?
