Hello OAG, can you tell me why you use Pro Mix? I have a problem with fungus nats on my seedlings. Is pro mix better?
-
your water was brown. did you use compost tea?

great job on the new video I love beetroot so this is good !!
-
P.S. I love juicing beets and want to grow as many as I can enjoy. I am looking forward to your followup videos.

Hi! First I want to say that I love your videos. In reading these comments, I found out about your beet juice and I will definitely be checking that out. I started juicing once a day on Jan 1st and love it.
So, to the point of my comment is to inquire about your transplanting of the beets. I have always been told NOT to transplant root veggies. Specifically beets and carrots, so your video has intrigued me. I have been waiting all summer to plant beets for the first time. I am ready to plant some, but want to make sure I am successful. I have a grow light and could start some seedlings, but worried they won't grow properly. So I wanted to ask if you always grow your beets this way, or just this year because of the crazy heat?
Thank you! -
thank you oaq, gret info and good timing. beets it is. peace

I'm definitely following along. Greetings from central Georgia!
-
I like to follow along! Thanks!
-
Very nice sir. I'm about to start some beets myself for fall.
-
Awesome update thank you for sharing have a blessed day
-
Good point about making the videos so people can follow along. Start to finish videos do not allow people to grow with you. Best wishes Bob.

some good advice there, thanks! I had one of those block makers years ago but haven't a clue what I have done with it
-
Can't wait to see how they do, and of course the harvest. The soil block maker looks very interesting. Lv ur vids !
-
your videos are awesome as usual. Thank you for making them and showing us first timers what to do and how to do it good advice.
-
so you are saying it is too hot to direct sow beets right now? I've never planted them, but wanted to try. I just sowed directly into my garden 2 days ago. do you think any will make? if not can I direct sow again or do you have to start in trays and transplant? I'm in Trussville just outside of Birmingham by the way. I'm really thankful to have found you bc I need a mentor!

Great tip, I am still harvesting beets from this spring and early summer. Just canned up a bunch of beets, boy are they good!
-
What are you using to initially water in the seeds? It looked like dark tea. Thanks!
-
I use rabbit pellets, chicken manure, feed the chickens organic greens and grains. I use compost and woodchips on top and comfrey.
I'm certainly not saying I have a better garden then you do. Yours is beautiful and I appreciate your advice, I just despise the company Monsanto, hoping we can all find alternatives to it. -
To all the folks who are watching this video: I really like to make videos that show from the beginning to the end, but, I thought if I make this as a start and then make follow-up videos as time goes along, you can see what I am doing and about what times I do it.
If I were to wait until I have the end of this beet growing season, it would be a few months from now and you wouldn't have time to grow beets yourself this autumn. So, stay tuned as the autumn comes on.
