Tyvm!! I've grown green red yellow peppers, Never heard of clipping the flowers 🌺 off .So the presses the plant to grow the peppers more to the bottom than to the top?? Also I plant mine in large containers... I've always picked when ready do you just leave yours own till you want to cook? You are so right about the soil that's any plants flowered food etc..They all need a good soil & mulch!! How do you get wood chips in the city?? Thx for any advice here!! Wish my dogs would lay in the garden...They are the reason I haven't had one in 2 years as puppy they tore it up!! Lol

My bell peppers got wiped out by phylloxera(root aphids) this year. Watch out for sudden wilting of your plants even though they have water. It may be root aphids. Thank god my serranos were OK.
Hope you are feeling better Starry. -
Starry is going to need our help, she has been in a bad accident. Details are
here: https://www.gofundme.com/starryhilder
A GoFundMe page was started on her behalf. Even $1 would go a long way to help her
during this crisis in her and her family's life. I created an email address that
I will share with Starry and her family, they will receive 100% of the proceeds
by using this address. I have listed the address at the hospital where you can
send cards or care packages on the GoFundMe page if you prefer send something
through the mail, just so everything is in one central location. Starry has a
daytime job as a nurse and needs our support to help with bills and running her
homestead while she is recovering. As you all know she also contributes
immensely to her homestead's upkeep and her contribution will be missed. If
everyone donates only $1 it will go a long way to help her keep things running.
If you can't donate but still want to help, here is a poster you can
print and share: http://tinyurl.com/j988m54
Here is
a link to an update video she posted yesterday: https://youtu.be/4Til0Cj-yKc

Hi Starry! Fantastic garden, I love your energy! I am doing a back to eden garden here in the desert, and am learning so much. I've had some successes and failures, but it's getting better every year. I have an orchard and garden beds with veggies, and did not amend the soil like I should have, so things didn't do as well as they could. I've corrected, so this year will no doubt be my best. Can't wait to see huge peppers like yours!

Thanks for the info. I unfortunately didn't know this. My peppers this year did not perform very well. I had maybe four peppers and that's it. I can now see what I did wrong. Hopefully next year will be different. Thanks so much.

We use to have a cattle fence tunnel for our grape vines when I was a kid. It would be coverd with vines and grapes hanging down. It was the coolest place on the farm. It would be 100 outside but under there a cool 70. It smelt so fresh and cool. We'd play there, sleep, eat lunch. When fruit would ripen we'd sit there surrounded by dozen of birds eating grapes.
