Informative video, Shelly. My understanding is that they require a well-drained soil. I live in the San Fernando Valley and and have pretty heavy clay soil. How would you suggest I amend my planting site for bougainvillea? Bougainvilleas are everywhere you look in our area, but it seems that they are planted straight into unamended clay with not much amendment (maybe a little "Gro-Mulch" that's common among landscape contractors?).

I just purchased a boug and it is in a 5 gallon, and is almost 7 feet tall. Do you have any advice to transplant it smoothly? thank you!
