Hi I am in a tropical climate and I have received some artichoke seeds. Do the seeds need to be Vernalized? Vernalization is the process of chilling seeds or crowns at temperatures
between 34 degrees and 50 degrees, which causes plants to flower
earlier. Is this required of the seeds in order to germinate? -
They are looking good, I'm in Scotland and growing them without a green house, I started them on my windowsill then put them in fertile soil in my allotment, they are coming on fine but I think I will give them more fertiliser they seem a very hungry plant, I'm growing them beside pumpkins as a companion plant, this now feels like a bad idea but time will tell.

I like this couple and their dog. They're so genuine and it was helpful because I'm growing artichokes for the first time and I don't know what to expect.

thanks for sharing, I am harvesting now in Seattle (heat wave) but what do I do after I cut them? Do they grow more or should I remove the whole plant?

First time growing them here in Northern VA, thanks or sharing, they get HUGE!!

The indoor light is good, but i think you should lower it some more.. the closer to the plant the better.. artificial light loses alot of lumens over short distances.. moving it as close to the plant as possible without burning it is the best

I think its so cool how open and warm Anthony Edwards is..who knew?

Did you know that the stalk of the artichoke is edible. Before you cook the stalk, use a peeler to remove the outer layer of it's skin. After it's cooked, you will be very surprised to see that the cooked stalk tastes just like the artichoke heart. Great video and great garden, thanks for sharing. 😃

Love your videos -- Lots of information and very little wasted time. Would like to see one about how you built that cool fence. A lot of deer in your area? Also, what's your opinion on composting and mulching.

I see in the comments that you leave your plants in the ground over winter. Do you mulch them, build up the dirt over them, or so anything to prepare them for winter? I am also in Wisconsin (SE) and have just planted artichokes for the first time.
