By Ferdinandh Cabrera Davao City---(November 11, 2015) As hundreds of rubber players, investors and farmers gathered here in the second Philippine Rubber Investment and Market Encounter (PRIME), the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao(ARMM) did not only showcase what they had in the promotion of rubber industry but also offer investors with a friendly tax-free investments. Department of Trade of Industry (DTI-ARMM) Secretary Sakiran Hajan who is also the board chairman of the board of Regional Economic Zone Authority(REZA) during his piece of talk on investment priority areas and logistics has offered incentives offered by REZA. This includes exemption from duties and taxes on merchandise, tax credit for import substitution and exemption from wharfage dues, export tax, impost or free. Specifically, ARMM offers its special economic zone in Parang Maguindanao, the Polloc Freeport and Eco zone with 129 hectares wide, an international standard port, which is potential for rubber industry exports flow, other agricultural and industrial products. Hajan reported also the smooth relationship now with the Bureau of Customs, which just lately has signed a Joint-Memorandum Order with BOC chairman Alberto Lina. Among key activities during the PRIME forum are business conference, market matching and encounter, exhibits about the rubber industry and its by-products. PRIME is intended to serve as platform to launch the manufacturing resurgence program for the rubber industry positioning of the least three business-friendly region in Mindanao, which is ARMM is of them as new manufacturing hubs for rubber products. This year the conference will provide access to information related to business opportunities in the entire rubber industry and value chain with emphasis on manufacturing and processing. More than 700 participants joined this event with investors coming from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, India and European countries. END.
