Amazing Sweet Potato Harvest: 139 lbs from 3 Potatoes
Tips, Tricks
Sweet Potato Harvest. This is the video so many of you have been waiting for, my sweet potato harvest. I planted them in April in sand and sawdust and fed them with the Mittleider weekly feed mineral fertilizer. I really didn't do much more than that but the sweet potato harvest was amazing! Sweet potatoes are highly nutritious and store well when cured properly. This is a great preparedness food. Please like, and share this video and check out the links below for more information. I look forward to your comments. What amazes me is this looks so easy, so WHY are they SO expensive in the stores? I grew up as a kid with gardens and had my own for years. I am going to try growing potatoes, different types and the sweet potatoes for sure.

I have never gotten potatoes which are regular sized. I will be and both sand and sawdust to my garden. It is already established. I may add 2 parts to 1 part of to compensate for the 75 to 25.

Were these grown in Utah? I can seem to grow them in Idaho all that well. Season too short?

So I'm harvesting mine in the UK the same as you, end of November. If I want to create slips for next year, should cure them, and then wait until February to start the next batch of slips or start the slips with some of them now?

Nice haul! 139lbs. That's remarkable and definitely worth the effort you put in. I never heard of the Mittleider method, but as far as prepping goes, this was a damn good success. Thank you.

I see your wife got the job done while you crowed about the yield......good work Mrs. LDS.

yes i love this. Farming all the way. yuh eat weh yuh grow, and yuh grow weh yuh eat.

This is great! Do you have any experience with growing asparagus in a similar soil mix? I've got access to tons of sawdust and coarse sand, so this would be perfect for me... I live in a cooler climate (average July high & low: 70F & 57F) so I'm prepared to keep these in the greenhouse instead.

did you know that Crisco doesn't have animal fat anymore.
Gmo soybean oil, hydrogenated palm and soybean oils, TBHQ and citric acid.
Sad to see you work so hard to raise health food for your family and feed them Crisco.
