Amateur Gardener: March (S1/E1)
Tips, Tricks
We meet the gardeners and introduce the allotment before kicking off the season with the first sowings of vegetables and flowers. First shown on Sky television Sunday March 6, 2011. Sean visits an allotment site where the landlords may increase the yearly rent from £67 to £200/£400 and takes time to visit Charles Dowding to discuss the no-dig method. Geoff feeds his chickens up after a cold winter. Claire takes shelter in the greenhouse on a rainy day and starts her vegetable year with shallots. In the kitchen Jonathan uses potatoes as a replacement for flour while Kris gets his flower year off in his conservatory. SUBSCRIBE - COMMENT - LIKE - TWEET. Hello there, I've subscribed and begun watching your videos, that are filled with lots of helpful info. and I certainly thank you. I was watching your segment of building your own raised beds, but not being from England, I don't understand the process of making them, though did look up the word, batten, but that really didn't help either. Is there a site you could recommend, that explains building it in a bit more depth. Any help you could offer would be appreciated. Thank you kindly, for your time. Gretchen
