Allotment Diary : Early June Vegetable Plot & Polytunnel growing update
Tips, Tricks
A quick update on the vegetable growing progress from the allotment and polytunnel in early June. There has been a mini heatwave up here in the North Weast with the warmest and dryest weather I can remember. The veg are all growing well in the sunshine but could do with some rain to give them a drink. The peas, cabbages and potatoes are growing well in the heat but the lettuce are loving it and really flying. The onions are growing well and none are going to seed even in the dry hot weather we've had up here. In the polythunnel the giant onions are going well but it's been over 100F all week in there even with all the doors wide open. The French beans seem to love the heat and are going well now. So far so good. The dry weather has kept the slugs at bay too. Happy Gardening. Website :http://www.allotment-diaty.co.uk Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/Allotment-Diarycouk-119640048156011/

The Jerusalem artichoke taste similar to an artichoke . They look like a knobby fingerling, they grow like weeds, tall, look like mini sunflowers. And what you leave in the soil will grow next year (all the small ones). They can be invasive. If you have a spot of ground you can let them grow wild, they enjoy compost but will grow almost anywhere.

I get pretty envious & jealous watching your (and other's) allotment videos. We aren't allowed any structures on our allotment down here in Cam, Dursley so we have to make do with whatever the weather sends us!

Although the shake really wasn't that bad, you could use youtube's stabilisation feature and it would be really smooth. Wish it was as hot as it is up north down south!

I've swapped my camera for my phone Dan and it works well, much better than lugging a camera around. I do all the editing on my phone to as well as uploading to YouTube, so much easier!
