3.03 Apart from fixation and clinging these roots have a special type of tissue , the velamen , highly spongy in nature , capable of absorbing moisture and water and give it to the plant.

Are Neostallis Lou Sneary vandas? I saw them referred to as "Vandaceous" I know it's a hybrid. I was thinking it was close enough to be called a vanda like orchid as it took off when moved it to a place where it is now getting vanda light. It took off almost immediately. What a pleasure!

Great video! I loooove orchids but mine are showing me no love at all. I removed my vanda from it's wooden box where it was packed in stones as I thought the roots needed to hang free. Since then, the roots have gone dry and shrivelled and the leaves are turning yellow from the bottom up. How can I save this plant?

Hi Maria, just discovered you and am enjoying your videos. Thanks for posting.
Ive always heard that you need to water Vandas everyday but i live in Orlando and always forget to water mine sometimes for weeks on end in our dry season and they they always flower pretty good for me. I also have the pencil looking Vanda growing up trees and palms and they grow like crazy for me.Thank You Will -
your voice...I love it lol I could listen to you all day haha. My Vanda is pure purple with no fragrant. I was wondering can these orchids get runners so i can take cuttings of them?

I took your advice and bought my first vanda. I bought a vanda miniatum that should be arriving tomorrow I hope. I can't wait to see what I'm getting my self into. I'm hopping not to kill it and if I do have it I'll send it to you for vanda cpr.

I love your videos and can't wait for an update on the extreme phal propagation...i am so curious! keep up the good work!

Thanks sis, for listening and understanding. U r the best.

Lol..I work 10-12hours a day. I dont have time to water as often, thats why the vandas are stifled. The extra system would aide them, l hope with their blooming cycle. They would be separated from orchid that dont require the extra attention. I want to do whats best for my hobby...and l am determined...

I was told by as another orchid lover, that I should install a separate misting system for the vandas, what do you think About that, big sis. I should group them together?
-
Fantastic, big sis. Thanks for the tip regarding vandas and congratulations on the max.tena. Only you can bloom the impossible. I will keep the misters in low when I go to work..the humidity will be off the charts..

Vanda orchids are such magnificent plants. They just take up a lot of space and require high maintenance that's why when they bloom, you do feel rewarded!!
